Promoting Academic and Personal Success
The student experience is among Texas A&M University’s top priorities. We launched the Student Success Initiative — an effort that targets students’ educational paths to ensure they stay in school, succeed academically and graduate on time — in Fall 2019.
Hullabaloo U First-Year Experience
These seminar courses are designed to help first-year students make a successful transition to campus, both academically and personally. Each student works with a faculty or staff instructor, a peer mentor and an intimate community of other first-year students.First-Generation Student Support
About 25% of Texas A&M’s students are considered first-generation. The Office for Student Success will provide support to these students through generous scholarships, learning communities, peer mentors and other outreach and recognition programs to celebrate their accomplishments.Student Success Help Desk
This is a resource for students who encounter barriers during their undergraduate experience, and will help them stay on track for graduation, preferably within four years. The help desk staff will work with students, advisors, faculty and staff to overcome whatever might be standing in the way of success, such as course registration, change of majors and more.Navigate Student and Navigate Campus
Navigate Student is a mobile app that helps students through key decision points throughout their college journey. It empowers them to resolve issues independently, while connecting them to advisors and other offices for issues that require more intensive support. Navigate Campus provides advisors and staff with an advanced advising system that utilizes predictive analytics and tools to provide students the best information and advice possible in supporting their success.Education Abroad
Education Abroad at Texas A&M is proud to promote and facilitate transformational, diverse and inclusive international experiences for over 5,500 Aggies each academic year — more than any other public university. With offerings ranging from one week to one year in over 100 different countries around the world, we help Aggies from freshmen to doctoral candidates find study, intern, research, service or volunteer programs to fit their academic and personal interests, career goals and budget.Education Abroad experiences actively prepare students to be global citizens, immersing them in foreign languages and cultures to foster intercultural knowledge and competence. Participating in education abroad while at Texas A&M gives students the opportunity to expand their intellectual and personal horizons, better navigate different environments and build a more impressive resume. Education Abroad is dedicated to supporting students before, during and after their experiences abroad.
